A well-known visitor of the Wadi Rum was Lawrence of Arabia. There are a number of sites associated with him through tradition or historical evidence. Wadi Rum offers spectacular vistas of towering cliffs and bold rock formations, etched by erosion into other-worldly forms. Only the nomadic Bedouins are able to scratch an existence out of the red desert sands in this area.

Wadi Rum is located 300 km (185 mi) south of Jordan’s capital city Amman.

The Wadi Rum visitor centre is the ideal starting point for a visit to the wonderful site of Rum. Tour the desert in a Bedouin jeep and watch the marvellous landscape of this mountain desert, dubbed the Moon Valley by Lawrence of Arabia.

Note: You can spend a wonderful night on location at a comfortable campsite.
